Active words?

(I didn't look this up, I wanted to jot it down as my own thought before I looked anything up)

I was thinking the other day about certain words and their properties. What struck me as interesting was the nature of what I called "active" words. These are words that cease to exist if they aren't in an active state. Think about the word 'breeze', it describes an activity or function of the air. If the air wasn't moving it wouldn't be a breeze. The same with waterfall. If the waterfall stopped, it would stop being a waterfall. I just thought it was an interesting thought that I had and wanted to share. I wonder how many words in the English language we have that are like that, or even the opposite. Words that are created to describe the inactivity of something and if it was always active there would be no inactivity word.
